  • WRC-27 Preparations, Follow up and Learnings from WRC-23 decisions, Recent ITU-R meetings and next steps for India and Panel Discussions

India's mobile infrastructure is rapidly evolving from 4G to 5G and beyond. To meet growing demand and support innovation, effective management of spectrum allocation across various technologies is essential. The transition to 5G relies heavily on mid-band spectrum and efficient use of existing resources. Ensuring the future-readiness of India's mobile networks calls for close collaboration between regulators, industry stakeholders, and international organizations. By embracing global best practices and achieving spectrum harmonization, India can position itself as a global leader in mobile communications.

Lunch Break: 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM - Networking Lunch

Session 3: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

  • Developing the Spectrum Roadmap for Growth of 4G, 5G, and 6G Mobile Services in India

Refreshment Break: 3:30 PM - 3:45 PM - Networking Tea/Coffee

Session 4: 3:45 PM - 5:15 PM

  • Framework for planning of the 6 GHz band – what are the right choices for India?

The 6 GHz (5925-7125 MHz) spectrum is crucial for high-speed wireless networks. India must decide between unlicensed use for Wi-Fi 6E and licensed use for 5G. Unlicensed use could expand broadband access and drive innovation, while licensed use could generate revenue. A hybrid model could balance both. India's decision will impact its digital future, therefore the TRAI and DoT must carefully consider both approaches.

Refreshment Break: 5:15 PM - 5:30 PM

Session 5: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Round table discussion on Spectrum Pricing and the Future of Spectrum Auctions

The round table discussion will focus on spectrum pricing and future auctions. Experts will discuss challenges and opportunities in pricing spectrum. The session will explore how future auctions can be redesigned to ensure the use of scarce resource efficiently, while promoting market competition. The panel discussion will include industry leaders and government representatives. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their views on spectrum pricing.
